A LOCAL STORY

A river guide with Alaska in his roots.

Raised in Girdwood, Ian McDonald began fishing Alaska waters as a kid. His early time around Cooper Landing helped shape a lifelong connection to the Kenai Peninsula's rivers. Today, as owner and guide at Kenai Fly Fish, he shares that knowledge with visitors looking for an authentic day on the water.

Ian and his team offer private guided experiences on the Kenai and Kasilof. Trips may focus on sockeye, coho, or rainbow trout depending on the season, legal openings, and the group's goals. No guide can guarantee fish, weather, or water conditions.
