01

Discharge

Flow is commonly reported in cubic feet per second (CFS). A changing number can be important context, but what it means locally depends on river section and conditions.

02

Gage height

A station-specific water-level reading is not the same thing as depth at a fishing spot. Avoid comparing levels from different gauges as if they share a datum.

03

Water temperature

Temperature can help explain seasonal conditions and fish-handling considerations. Check the observation timestamp; readings can be provisional or unavailable.

USGS measurements may be delayed or revised. A reading does not establish safe wading, navigation, river access or likely fishing success. Values older than 48 hours are suppressed here.
